Start-up

I wonder –

What will get you to start-up,

That engine inside,

That knew how to say

‘Enough?’

I wonder why you try –

To take the pain away,

When the pain is the reason,

That you know others aren’t okay?

I wonder why you doubt yourself,

With your big, kind, juicy heart –

I wonder what it would take,

To get you to start-up again?

Someone wants you,

They call for you at night,

Not like the wolf to the moon,

But the leaf to the light.

I wonder why you can’t notice,

All that is good and bright,

Just because someone once told you,

You didn’t have the right,

To be here,

Isn’t it enough, now?

Time for the voice to shut-up, now.

I wonder –

When will you start-up?

Hey there. My name is Ash. Whenever I feel lost or confused, I write. This blog is a project in releasing the poetry I would have kept locked up inside, otherwise. It's pronounced 'LOU-lah-NA.' Enjoy your visit!
